Thailand’s consumer protection agency has reportedly received approximately 70 complaints following its investigation into the aggressive discounting practices of BYD Co., Ltd. (OTC:BYDDY) and its dealers, which has led some customers to believe they paid more than necessary for their Chinese electric vehicles.
During the opening of its inaugural Southeast Asian factory this week in Thailand, BYD Chief Executive Wang Chuanfu received guidance from Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, Reuters reported.
In their meeting on Friday, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of effectively managing customer expectations regarding pricing and ensuring the protection of local buyers.
