Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) has expressed that President Joe Biden should not interfere in the ongoing negotiations between the United Auto Workers (UAW) union and major automakers amid a strike, The Hill reported.
"First of all, I do not believe that the president should intervene or be at the negotiating table. I've said that from the beginning," she said
The statement followed reports that Biden dispatched top aides, acting Labor Secretary Julie Su and senior aide Gene Sperling, to Detroit on Friday to aid in resolving issues between UAW and three key automakers: General Motors (NYSE:GM), Ford (NYSE:F) and Stellantis (NYSE:STLA).
