The 2023 year just keeps getting bigger and bigger for musician Taylor Swift. The musician is continuing to take the movie box office by storm alongside a record-breaking concert tour.
What Happened: Following a strong opening box office weekend after its debut on Oct. 13, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” concert film won the domestic box office for a second straight weekend.
The concert film had a domestic box office of $31 million in its second weekend, adding to the $95 million opening weekend, as reported by Variety.
With another number one position atop the box office, the Swift film became the first ever concert film to top the domestic box office for more than one weekend.
The film beat the highly anticipated opening weekend of the Martin Scorsese directed “Killers of the Flower Moon,” which comes from Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL). The newly released movie grossed $23 million domestically and $21 million internationally for a total of $44 million.
