Centerra Gold ( NYSE: CGAU ) +8.9% in Wednesday's trading after saying Turkey's government approved the amended environmental impact assessment for its Öksüt mine, paving the way for full operations to be restarted in the coming weeks.
The approval follows the receipt of regulatory approvals for the mercury abatement retrofit for the adsorption, desorption and recovery plant at the mine.
In March 2022 , Centerra ( CGAU ) suspended gold doré bar production at the Öksüt mine following the detection of mercury in the gold room at the ADR plant.
With the final regulatory approvals and the restart of the ADR plant in place, Centerra ( CGAU ) will be able to begin processing ~100K recoverable oz of gold-in-carbon inventory on hand.
