- Citizens Financial Group ( NYSE: CFG ) has started offering Zelle, the network started for person-to-person payments, to its small business customers, so they can get paid quicker, without waiting for checks to clear, the company said Wednesday.
- The bank's mobile banking app now includes Zelle, allowing payments to be sent directly to customers' eligible Citizens Business Checking account, usually within minutes, the bank said. It als0 creates a record of all Zelle payments, reducing the need to sort and transport cash and checks.
- Zelle is owned by Early Warning Services, which is owned by Bank of America ( BAC ), Truist Financial ( TFC ), Capital One Financial ( COF ), JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ), PNC Bank ( PNC ), U.S. Bank ( USB ), and Walls Fargo ( WFC ).
- Earlier this month, Zelle said it's developing a digital wallet.
