CLM: Time To Take A Fresh Look At The Cornerstone Funds (Rating Downgrade)

The last time that I wrote about Cornerstone Strategic Investment Fund, Inc. ( CLM ) and sibling fund Cornerstone Total Return Fund ( CRF ) was in September 2024, when I suggested that income investors might want to consider buying shares of these high-yield funds. This was what I wrote in the summary of that review:
As the fund managers explain in the Semi-Annual report, there are two key considerations for investors in CLM (and CRF) that make the CEF a good choice for income-oriented investors. The first consideration is that the fund uses a Managed Distribution policy based on 21% of NAV and is set each January and remains unchanged for the next 12 months. The second key consideration is the Distribution Reinvestment policy.
