The pan-European Stoxx 600 ( STOXX ) fell 0.8% on Thursday with most sectors trading in negative territory, as investors weighed the impact of the Middle East crisis. Industrials and construction were the biggest losers among sectors. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury meanwhile rose above 4.9% for the first time since 2007 as markets scanned earnings and economic data.
Coming up in the session: Canada producer price index, U.S. leading economic indicators including initial jobless claims. Investors also cautiously awaited speech from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell to gauge the path of monetary policy.
In the bond market, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was up 6 basis points to 4.96%.
Germany's 10-year yield was up 3 basis points to 2.95%.
U.K.'s 10-year yield was up 5 basis points to 4.71%.
