- Granite Construction ( NYSE: GVA ) said Tuesday it was awarded ~$40M contract for improvements to State Highway 288 in the Houston metro area.
- The project will increase connectivity on the south side of the Houston metro area and improve access to the Texas Medical Center.
- The contract was awarded by and will be funded by the Texas Dept. of Transportation.
- The contract, which will be included in GVA's Q3 CAP, is the first in a series of 4 projects to improve the SH 288 corridor.
- The project is expected to start in Q4 and complete in early 2024.
- "... this project will improve GVA's strategic position to pursue additional contracts in TxDOT's upcoming bid lettings later this summer," said Domingo Gonzalez, GVA project executive.
