- Jim Crown, a member of JPMorgan Chase's ( NYSE: JPM ) board since 2004, died in Colorado in an accident at a racetrack in Colorado, according to media reports.
- The businessman and Chicago socialite failed to navigate a turn and hit an impact barrier at Aspen Motorsports Park in Woody Creek, CO, CBS reported. He was 70 years old.
- "He has been a trusted advisor to me for nearly 20 years, playing a key role in helping our company navigate numerous business and economic challenges, most recently on our Public Responsibility and Risk Committees," said JPMorgan ( JPM ) Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon.
- Crown served on Bank One's board from 1991 until 2004, when JPMorgan ( JPM ) bought the bank.
