Keyera Corp. ( OTCPK:KEYUF ) and Canadian National Railway ( NYSE: CNI ) said on Wednesday they signed a memorandum of understanding to evaluate the creation of a specialized clean energy terminal in Alberta .
The two companies said the new infrastructure would use conventional and clean energy from multiple sources to support transportation of Alberta's diverse energy products; no financial details were disclosed.
Keyera ( OTCPK:KEYUF ) and CN Rail ( CNI ) said the high throughput, state of the art facility would be built on adjoining lands belonging to the two companies that are close to large industrial operators.
The facility would be capable of handling six high-capacity trains daily in Alberta's Industrial Heartland, the companies said.
Alberta's government has legislated plans to increase the amount of green energy produced in the province by 30% by 2030.
Canadian National Railway ( CNI ) recently reported better than expected Q2 adjusted earnings of C$1.93/share on revenues of $4.34B .
