- Ford stock has been on the upswing supposedly because of its electric vehicle future.
- Most of Ford’s sales, however, are of non-all-electric products, such as its compact SUVs, the Escape (Kuga in Europe) and Bronco Sport.
- Whereas the full-size body-on-frame Bronco starts around $35,000 in four-door form, the Escape-based Bronco Sport starts at only $28,910.
- Sales of the Bronco Sport came surprisingly close to matching the Escape in the US market in 2021, greatly increasing Ford’s segment market share overall.
- This proves that US customers greatly prefer the Bronco Sport styling over the Escape, and perhaps Ford will add a plug-in hybrid version to the Bronco Sport in the future.
