Overview
The golden era for credit investing happened a few years ago, but I am afraid the appeal of these income investments is declining. Unlike traditional equities, credit funds don't rely on the earnings growth of their holdings. Instead, these credit funds capitalize on the higher interest rate environment by generating an elevated level of interest income from their portfolio of borrowers. When I previously covered Ares Dynamic Credit Allocation Fund ( ARDC ), I issued a hold rating due to the high use of leverage and risk related to defaults. Since the time of my last coverage, ARDC released an updated semi-annual report, which prompted me to revisit the fund to provide some updated insights into its performance and outlook for the remainder of the year....
