Extra Storage: Underperformance Seems Clear

I've been covering the storage REIT space for some time—my investments into companies such as Public Storage (PSA) go back many years, and I've usually been able to get in and out of these investments at relatively good rates of return. I currently have small investments in key operators in the space, but I've been negative or neutral on others. One of the operators that I've been negative or neutral on is Extra Space Storage ( EXR ). My last article was published during a time when I did an update on the space and on the company. My analyst peers, including those here on Seeking Alpha, tend to view the company with relatively positive outlooks—the average is a "BUY" rating, and Wall Street echoes this "BUY" rating, with only Quant being at a "HOLD"....
