First Financial Bankshares: Needs To Be Cheaper To Justify An Upgrade

Whether it's in the banking sector or some other part of the economy, even high-quality firms that are growing at a nice pace can justify a neutral or bearish assessment. Case in point, we need only look at First Financial Bankshares ( FFIN ), a pretty sizable bank with a market capitalization of $4.48 billion. This institution has recently been growing nicely. But in July of this year, I decided to reaffirm it as a "Hold" candidate. This might have been shocking to some investors in the company, especially considering the attractive growth and the robust asset quality of the institution. Unfortunately, the thing that ruined a bullish assessment was the fact that shares were very pricey, both relative to earnings and book value....
