Expansion Into Texas Could Boost Glacier Bancorp

In August, I wrote an analysis of Seacoast Banking Corporation of Florida ( SBCF ), referring to the company as a “ serial acquirer ”. At the time, the holding company for Seacoast Bank had just announced its 17 ^th takeover in the last 11 years, with the Villages Bancorporation being its latest target. While the deal-making pace from Glacier Bancorp ( GBCI ) is not quite up to the high levels set by SBCF, it is certainly getting closer after its June announcement to buy Guaranty Bancshares in an all-stock transaction. The acquisition was Glacier's 27 ^th since 2000 and its 13 ^th in the past decade. The deal for Guaranty closed on September 30....
