Cursor, an artificial intelligence startup for coding, is in talks with investors for a funding round that would value the startup at about $50 billion, nearly double the valuation it secured last fall, Bloomberg News reported....
Cursor’s AI assistant, launched in 2023, helps programmers write and debug code more efficiently. It’s become one of the fastest-growing startups of all time and a central player in tech’s “vibe coding” era, as demand surges among software developers for artificial intelligence coding tools.
According to earlier reports , Cursor - which is used by over 30,000 developers at Nvidia ( NVDA ) - has seen its revenue run rate, which projects current sales over 12 months, double compared with three months earlier.
Last year in November, Cursor raised about $2.3B at a $29.3B post-money valuation in a Series D funding round, which included existing investors, including Accel, Thrive, and Andreessen Horowitz, and new partners Coatue, Nvidia ( NVDA ) and Alphabet's ( GOOG ) ( GOOGL ) Google.
Cursor is among several companies aiming to dominate the market for AI coding assistants, competing against OpenAI ( OPENAI ), Anthropic ( ANTHRO ) and Google.
