Last September, I wrote an article about the iShares Global Clean Energy ETF ( ICLN ) at a time when the fund had already achieved an impressive 25% return YTD. The paradoxical aspect was that this was occurring in the first year of the Trump presidency. The rationale was based upon three main pillars: monetary easing that would decrease the cost of borrowing for capital-intensive renewable energy companies, the growing demand for clean energy driven by AI that would provide a long-term tailwind for clean energy companies, and a relatively attractive valuation discount compared to the broader market as well as the US Energy sector....
