Two companies owned by Elon Musk will be getting new headquarters, according to a post from the billionaire investor.
What Happened: Following the move of electric vehicle company Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) changing its headquarters from California to Texas, Musk appears ready to make the move on several other companies he runs.
"This is the final straw. Because of this law and many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas," Musk tweeted.
The tweet came in response to a post sharing that Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) had signed AB1955 into law. The bill makes California the first state in the nation to ban schools from making rules that require parents to be notified if their child identified as transgender or uses different pronouns.
"I did make it clear to Governor Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children."
